Ok, so I absolutely love Cirque du Soleil. When we were kids my family would spend the summer with my grandparents up in Virginia. We loved it but they didn't have cable so we watched VHS tapes of home videos, that guy that exposed magic tricks, and Cirque du Soleil. When you ask a little girl what they want to be when they grow up you typically get answers like a princess, movie star, singer, ballerina, president, etc. Not me, I wanted to be in Cirque du Soleil. Well, I'm not Russian or Chinese nor have I been in training since infancy :(. I was in gymnastics and dance for a bit in what seems like a lifetime ago but I have since let my body go to shit. I am 5'4", 150lbs, and will be 30 at the end of this month which is like 105 in circus years. I recently watched the new Cirque du Soleil movie that came out on dvd and the dream was revived. I am well aware that I have a greater chance of winning the lottery than being part of the act so now my goal is far more realistic. I want to be on American Ninja Warrior. Just kidding. I just want to get healthy, in really good shape with a rock solid body, and to be very limber. I'm going to chronicle my journey for a couple of reasons: accountability and motivation by embarassment. Wish me luck because I'll need it.
